In some instances, there may be some additional costs for example, if you need to have a procedure done or have further diagnostic interventions.

Fees described below are for consults only and doesn't cover any additional tests or procedures done onsite.

Fees and charges for Recalls

Recalling a patient is an essential part of the healthcare system. A recall could be issued for several reasons and indicates that your General Practitioner (GP) requires your attendance in a follow-up appointment. Your GP will determine if you require a recall appointment by reviewing your medical history, results, and any new information to help determine if it is significant to your health care.

If you receive a recall, it is necessary that you book a follow-up appointment with your GP. The doctor needs to see you for a reason, whether test results, preventative care, or a reminder for an appointment.
Fees for a recall will be charged as per our fees and schedule.

Telehealth appointments:

Payments details for telehealth appointments will be collected at the time that you make your appointments.

The fee will be charged at the end of your appointment and a Medicare rebate will be submitted on your behalf on the same day.

This is to ensure timely payment and avoid payments defaults.

Skin Excisions

Pricing for excision procedures are complicated. We can usually provide a price estimate for your procedure, but in some cases, the fee can only be finalized after pathology results are available.  All surgical and wound procedures will incur a facility fee and aftercare fee to cover the cost of consumables. This fee will be added to the consultation fees.

Medicare does not cover for any post-procedural consults.

An excision is a procedure where the doctor surgically removes some skin and then closes the defect (hole) using stiches.

Excisions vary widely.

Some variables include :

Size

Body location

Number of stiches

Amount and type of supplies, drugs, equipment and dressings used

Time taken to perform the procedure

Amount of follow-up required after the excision

Suspected clinical diagnosis

We can predict some of these variables before the procedure, but some are unknown. This means we can provide an estimated quote for a procedure, but the final amount will vary.

In most cases, the cost of  an excision is subsidized by Medicare (for Australian citizens). the amount paid by Medicare varies according to the location on the body and size of the excision, as well as the pathology result. This means that the Medicare rebate and total fee is unknown until after the procedure.

As a rough guide, the most common fee we charge is about $200 plus (dressing room fee).

This applies if:

The size of the excision is < 15mm

The location is not on the face, lower leg, or other cosmetically/technically challenging areas

The pathology result is not skin cancer

In cases where the pathology result diagnoses skin cancer, where the procedure is in other locations, or the size is larger, the fee will be higher.
